The 'Saucy issue'
Yeah, when we talk about BBQ we can not afford to miss out on the variety of sauces that are available to you on a platter right here...All the ingredients for which you can get at home. They are simple to make and easy to remember. These sauces are different as compared to the basting sauce that is easily available in the market. Basting sauce acts as gravy for the meat. All you got to do in that is, you have to add equal amount of flour as is the thickness desired by you. Though it does not help the meat cook faster, the meat turns tender only when it is cooked at a particular temperature.
Basic sauce that you can make..
The sauce that can be made effortlessly, does not require much time and is definitely inexpensive ;
- Mustard 1tbsp
- Black pepper 1tbsp
- Vinegar 2tbsp
- Lemon Juice 1tbsp
- Brown Sugar 3tbsp
- Ketchup 1cup
- Worcestershire sauce 3tbsp
This sauce can be used almost immediately after preparation and be poured on the BBQ meat but the only disadvantage will be that the flavours that were used will get mixed with each other hence, it is advisable that the sauce be prepared at night and refrigerated so that it can set in and the flavours can be retained when using for BBQ the next day. The quantity of ingredients used can be the same or there can be more additions that would purely depend on the kind of flavours you prefer.
Flavoured 'Smoky'
This sauce is preferred by people who like the flavour of smoke in their sauce....
- Water 1/4 cup
- Mustard 1tbsp
- Liquid smoke 2tsp
- Chilly sauce bottle (1)
- Worcestershire sauce 1tbsp
- Vinegar 3tbsp
The water can be used to wash out the chilly sauce from the bottle, ensuring that the sauce gets the exclusive taste of chilly sauce. If you prefer less chilly in the sauce then you can alter the contents and the quantity as it suits your tastebuds the best. This is the sauce that is served at restaurants also at a higher price, but the logic behind a home made sauce ultimately is that when you can make the same at home within your budget why spend money on it outside?
